Usage
of Membran in Roofs by Order:

They are
waterproofing covers produced
through the modification of
bitumen (asphalt) by Polymer-based
plastics, and together with
carrying equipments.
Bitumens are grouped as such:
1.
Penetration Bitumens
2.
Oxidized Bitumens
3.
Polymer Bitumens
Polymer
Bitumens are divided into
two as
Plastomeric and
Elastomeric .
Plastomeric Bitumens
are synthetic rubbers that are
produced through APP
modification, and that lengthens
the life of the material by
protecting it from the
Ultraviolet impacts.
In this type
of our membranes that are the
ideal preference in the
temperate zone Atactic
Polypropylene (APP)
with thermoplastic resin is used
to increase the resistance of
bitumen. And fiberglass or
polyester felt is used as
carrier to increase the physical
strength of the membranes. It is
easy to apply by torching and
hot asphalt.
Elastomeric Bitumens ,
however , are synthetic rubbers
that are produced through SBS
modification, and that lengthens
the life of the material by
protecting it from the
Ultraviolet impacts.
Styrene-Butadiene-Styrene
(SBS-artificial rubber based
polymer that has very highly
elasticity) containing
thermoplastic resin is used to
increase the resistance of
bitumen. This type SBS-added
membranes that are highly
resistant to aging, that have
high utilization performance,
protecting its stability in cold
climates are used in cold
climates and in mobile buildings
desired to be highly elastic.
SBS gives the
material a continuous elasticity
even in low temperatures.
And fiberglass
or polyester felt is used as
carrier to increase the physical
strength of the membranes.
Cracking and breaking under cold
weather conditions are not
concerned. It is easy to apply
by torching and hot asphalt.
Membranes are divided into two
according to the carriers:
1.
Membranes with Polyester Felt
Carrier
The
waterproofing membranes that are
produced through using spunbond
felt that weighs 150 gr/m 2 ,
170 gr/m?, 180 gr/m 2 or 250
gr/m 2 are ‘ Membranes with
Polyester Felt Carrier
'.
They are
available in thicknesses such as
2mm, 3mm, and 4mm.
2.
Membranes with Fiberglass
Carrier
The
waterproofing membranes that are
produced through using
fiberglass that weighs 50 gr/m?,
80 gr/m 2 , however, are called
‘ Membranes with Fiberglass
Carrier '.
They are
available in thicknesses such as
2mm, 3mm, and 4mm. Both faces
are coated with polyethylene.
Over the
membranes to be used outdoor,
natural stones – granule-shaped
colored minerals are laminated.
This type of membranes is called
Slated membrane,
and only one side is coated with
polyethylene.
Another one-side
polyethylene-coated product is
Aluminum Folio
.
Climatic
conditions of the region where
the membrane is to be used are
primarily important in deciding
to use which type of membranes.
In
application, special attention
must be given to details and
product selection. It must be
carried out by a professional
workers-staff absolutely. Staff
members certified by the
producing firms must be
preferred in application. |
